A short look at a recent project — the brief, the build and the result.

Overview

Inspiring Visitors to Discover the Heart of Scotland

Internet Creation partnered with Heart 200 to create a visually engaging tourism website that showcases one of Scotland's newest scenic driving routes. Designed to inspire exploration, the platform promotes destinations, attractions, accommodation, food and drink, outdoor activities and local businesses across a 200-mile circular journey through the heart of Scotland.

About the Client

Heart 200 is a collaborative tourism initiative promoting a spectacular 200-mile driving route connecting Perth, Stirling and the Cairngorms National Park. The route encourages visitors to discover historic towns, castles, distilleries, outdoor adventures, cultural attractions and independent businesses while supporting tourism across central Scotland.

Project Overview

The website was designed to become the primary digital gateway for visitors planning a Heart 200 journey.

The objective was to inspire travel while providing practical information that helps visitors build personalised itineraries and discover experiences throughout the region.

The Brief

The website needed to:

  • Promote the Heart 200 route
  • Inspire tourism
  • Showcase destinations
  • Highlight local businesses
  • Encourage longer visitor stays
  • Support destination marketing
  • Provide an easy-to-manage content platform

Our Solution

Internet Creation developed a bespoke WordPress website that combines inspiring photography with intuitive navigation and engaging content.

The website encourages visitors to explore destinations based on their interests rather than simply following a route. Attractions, accommodation, activities and food experiences are presented in a way that encourages visitors to spend more time discovering what the region has to offer.

Key Features

  • Bespoke tourism website
  • Interactive destination pages
  • Attraction listings
  • Accommodation directory
  • Events and experiences
  • Blog and news
  • Image galleries
  • Search functionality
  • Contact forms
  • Flexible CMS

User Experience

Tourism websites need to inspire before they inform.

The website uses strong visual storytelling alongside clear navigation to encourage visitors to discover new destinations while making it simple to access practical travel information.

Visitors can quickly browse attractions, experiences and accommodation while building their own itinerary around the Heart 200 route.

Results & Outcomes

The completed website provides Heart 200 with a compelling digital platform that supports tourism growth while promoting destinations across the region.

  • A visually engaging tourism website
  • Improved presentation of visitor experiences
  • Better promotion of local attractions and businesses
  • Flexible content management for ongoing campaigns
  • A scalable platform supporting future tourism initiatives
